Nissin Foods Company Limited Becomes the Official Food Partner of the Hong Kong, China Representative Team (HKRT)

To show further support and boost popularity of HKRT during the Asian Cup period, Nissin will launch thematic Cup Noodles and Nissin Koikeya Potato Chips, featuring Mr. Jörn Andersen, Head Coach, and key players including Mr. Yapp Hung Fai, Mr. Wong Wai, Mr. Matthew Orr and Mr. Sun Ming Him.

The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA) is honoured to announce Nissin Foods Company Limited (“Nissin Foods”, and together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”; Stock code: 1475) as the Official Food Partner of the Hong Kong, China Representative Team (HKRT).

 

Nissin Foods will be an official sponsor of HKRT, supporting the Team’s campaign at the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ and the FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027™ Preliminary Joint Qualification Round 2.

 

To show further support and boost popularity of HKRT during the Asian Cup period, Nissin will launch thematic Cup Noodles and Nissin Koikeya Potato Chips, featuring Mr. Jörn ANDERSEN, Head Coach, and key players including Mr. YAPP Hung Fai, Mr. WONG Wai, Mr. Matthew ORR and Mr. SUN Ming Him. The limited-edition Cup Noodles will be available in all major supermarkets and convenience stores from 12 January 2024, and the limited-edition Nissin Koikeya Potato Chips at selected supermarkets from 5 January 2024.

 

Mr. Eric FOK, Chairman of HKFA, said: “Nissin Foods, a worldwide brand and the largest instant noodles manufacturer in Hong Kong, has been a veteran supporter of local sports development. Ahead of HKRT’s departure for the Asian Cup Finals, Asia’s top tournament which we have been absent from for 55 years, I am most delighted that we can have their support for the Team. The launch of thematic Cup Noodle and Nissin Koikeya potato chips on HKRT is innovative, bringing the football games directly to the Hong Kong consumers. I hope they enjoy the games and the products as much as I do.”

Nissin Foods has been sponsoring Team Hong Kong, China to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and a series of multi-sports games leading to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Group is also the sponsor of individual tennis players and title sponsor of the major junior tennis tournaments in Hong Kong.

 

HKRT has achieved great success in the past two years. In June 2022, HKRT participated in the Asian Cup Qualifiers held in Kolkata, India, and defeated Afghanistan and Cambodia to secure qualification to the Finals. At the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou, HKRT defeated Palestine and IR Iran in the knock-off stage to reach the semi-finals in the first time in history. The Team is also widely popular among Hong Kong fans where home games are often attended by more than 10,000 spectators.

 

The AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™ will be held in January 2024 in Doha, Qatar. Hong Kong, China has been drawn into Group C and will face IR Iran, United Arab Emirates and Palestine in the fight for a place in the Round of 16.
